We are currently working with a well established supermarket group who are recruiting for a Butchery and Fishery Specialist, whose role will be to ensure the sales of the best products with the highest possible freshness and quality. This is a strategic section of Fresh Food needs hands on expertise and product knowledge.

The Butchery and Fishery Specialist will have the following responsibilities:

• Manage the B&F department targets and profitability: Achieve sales target, optimize stock management, maintain cold chain and freshness within the displayed range of products;
• Manage B&F Promotions: Create and place the promotion designs, ensure availability of the products during the promotion time and limit wastage;
• Point of Sale & Pricing: Verify that the right prices and signage are being correctly displayed within a clean and tidy POS. Ensure price surveys and competitive prices at all times;
• Hygiene & Housekeeping: Ensure clean stock, floor, refrigeration units and the use of the correct chemicals and procedures. Comply with food safety legislation and schedule cleaning on a weekly basis;
• Manage staff: Train and manage the team, sets schedules to optimize staff availability, comply with labour legislation, give staff performance reviews, plan annual leave cycles, daily meetings with staff.;
• Manage customers: Resolve customer complaints, develop personalized relationship with the customers.

The monthly net salary is 2,000 to 2,600 euros, depending on experience.

This role also includes:

• Individual accommodation (single status only);
• Transportation;
• Insurance;
• 2 flights per annum.

The ideal candidate for the Butchery and Fishery Specialist will have the following skills and experience:

• Similar experience in retail supermarket;
• Portuguese and English speaking is a must;
• Management/Supervision experience;
• Extensive knowledge and experience in B&F;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Team leading/Management skills.
