Heading Moz is recruiting for its client, an Oil and Gas Company, a Government Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement Lead to be based in Pemba.
Main Responsibilities
Stakeholder identification and assessment in provincial government, CSOs/NGOs and development actors;
Establish and maintain effective relationships with identified stakeholders through continuous relational and operational engagement;
Provide operational support to Pemba-based, Afungi and Maputo based functions in relation to engagement with stakeholders, especially provincial government;
Represent project in engagement with provincial government and functional areas as required;
Promote broad-based awareness, understanding of the project amongst Pemba stakeholder groups;
Develop and maintain stakeholder database relevant to project and functional activity occurring at the provincial level;
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to enable project operations and delivery of work scope of key functional areas;
Facilitate Project engagement with key stakeholders as required by Pemba/Afungi/Maputo based Project staff;
Lead CSO engagement and coordination of quarterly CSO update meetings;
Engage humanitarian/development stakeholders to ensure awareness of programs and activities relevant to project and social management plan.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Degree in Public Relations/Government Affairs/Political Science or related discipline;
Minimum 5-7 years in a government affairs/stakeholder engagement role requiring project representation, building and maintenance of relationships, etc;
Familiarity with requirement of large scale private sector projects (especially OGM) an advantage;
Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
Fluent in Portuguese and English; additional languages considered to be an advantage;
Good public speaking, oral and written language skills in Portuguese and English;
String MS Office skills particularly Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
