Development Manager

Description

Our client in the Property Development industry is searching for a diligent and experienced Development Manager with strong leadership abilities and outstanding communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with site assembly, due diligence exercises and negotiating any acquisitions.
• Professional team selection and appointment.
• Overseeing the construction delivery phases and acting as the development project manager on behalf of the project owner.
• Actively involved with development trouble-shooting in order to deliver a project on time and within budget.
• Project reporting to the various stakeholders on a predetermined schedule.
• Tenant installation and company liaison with tenants.
• Maintain and update the database (a) such that all contact people and the agreements are always kept current.
• Management of staff working within these areas.
• Work proactively, anticipating all problems well before they actually happen.

Requirements

• 5years+ experience in developing retail shopping centres.
• Experience with complex Tenant installations (Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Woolworths etc).
• Operated within the Zimbabwean, Mozambiquan or Zambian markets.
• Skills related to construction management including handling QS claims, client reporting and related problem solving.
• Experience with cross border logistics and procurement of building materials/ finishing items.
• Proven experience as construction project manager within Sub Saharan Africa.
• In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
• Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
• Good knowledge of MS Office.
• Familiarity with construction/ project management software – MS project or Candy.
• Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• A team player with leadership abilities.
• Degree in Project Management or similar.
