Finance Director

Our client, one of the world’s leading energy companies, is looking to appoint a successful Finance Director, to be based in Maputo. The candidate must be a Mozambican national and fluent in English and Portuguese.

Overview

• Build and lead the team responsible for all financial activities, asset management and development services.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee budget development and monitoring.
• Project reporting.
• Financial reporting.
• Lender reporting.
• Financial systems.
• Internal Controls.
• ERP System.
• Shareholder reporting.
• Treasury planning and operations.
• Tax Compliance.
• Foreign Exchange Control.
• Maintain strong local relationships with key project stakeholders.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

• Qualified finance and/or accountant with construction or project management experience.
• Experience in successfully building and leading a finance team in a significant business or project.
• Demonstrated successful understanding of the detailed project or similar documentation.
• Experience with dealing with third party lenders, ideally project finance.
• Treasury experience in preparing cash reports and drawdowns under facility documents.
• Detailed accounting/reporting knowledge with experience of all aspects of financial accounting and tax.
• Experience in managing finance streams, and associated stakeholders, of foreign direct investments in Mozambique.
• Team management: 4-5 finance and tax-related staff.
