EHOD: Ethics, Compliance & Privacy

Role Purpose

To ensure that Vodacom Mozambique maintains high standards of corporate governance with respect to general legal and policy compliance, compliance with the company code of conduct, and compliance with laws relating to anti-corruption, money laundering and terrorist financing (anti-CMT) and privacy.

Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership

• Conducting country and company risk assessments in compliance and privacy areas.
• Establishing, implementing and improving company policies, codes and procedures in the light of applicable laws as amended from time to time.
• Providing training and advice to staff and business partners in respect of governance issues, particularly those relating to compliance and ethics.
• Overseeing due diligences of high risk potential business partners and due diligence reviews of existing business partners.
• Assisting with compliance reviews and preliminary investigations of possible violations of internal policies, codes and procedures, as well applicable anti-CMT and other laws and standards.

• Job experience of 5 + years’ of relevant post-qualification legal or regulatory experience in a government agency or major company.

Must have Technical/ Professional Qualifications

• Honours Degree in Law.
• Admitted to practice as an attorney or advocate in Mozambique.
• Higher Mozambican law degrees or relevant foreign law degrees will be an advantage.
• CA qualification or other auditing experience.
• Investigating or accounting qualifications will be an advantage.
• Experience in law enforcement will be an advantage.

Key Performance Indicators

• Ensuring compliance with laws, policies and procedures, the code of conduct and ethical standards (PCR).
• Awareness of compliance and privacy risks in Vodacom Mozambique.
• Monitoring, management and reporting on privacy compliance status as well as propose risk mitigating actions across the company.
