Multi NDT Disciplined Technician (Fixed Term)

Position Summary

The execution of multiple Non-Destructive Testing techniques to ascertain conditioning monitoring of components as directed by Supervisors. Report findings within approved formats ensuring compliance with Oceaneering procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities

Functions

Essential

Execute NDT techniques as listed below on items of static equipment and associated piping.

• Ad-hoc NDT inspections as directed by Supervisors.
• Produce detailed reports with isometrics or sketches showing the areas inspected and the results obtained
• Support NDT inspection programs.
• Ensure all NDT Testing and Reporting requirements complies with Oceaneering procedures.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained and complies with Oceaneering procedures.
• Ensure all mandatory assigned training modules are completed within a timely manner.
• Ensure all work is executed in accordance with Oceaneering Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems

Non-essential

• Assist with any other duties as and when required.
• Undertake specific project tasks as instructed by management.

Safety

• Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable to ensure a safe working environment.
• Actively participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks as required by company and client.
• Ensure that all Safety procedures are always adhered to and that required documentation is kept updated.

Other

• Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
• Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.
• Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has NO direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required

• PCN / CSWIP / ASNT – RT – level 2 – Radiographic Testing. (Conventual, Digital, Real Time).
• PCN / CSWIP / ASNT – UT – level 2 – Ultrasonic Testing, including 3.8/3.9 (nodes & Nozzles – TKY).
• PCN / CSWIP / ASNT – MT – level 2 – Magnetic Particle Testing.
• PCN / CSWIP / ASNT – PT – level 2 – Dye/Liquid Penetrant Testing.
• Offshore medical, BOSIET / Offshore Survival certification.
• Confined Space Entry training.

Note: Third Party ASNT certificate holders will be required to undergo Oceaneering Certificate and successful completion is a mandatory requirement to acquire this position. (Qualification Required will vary depending on the client’s requirements for Radiographic Testing).

Desired

• PCN / CSWIP / ASNT – ET – level 1/2 – Eddy Current Testing.
• PCN / CSWIP / ASNT – VT – level 1/2 – Visual Inspection.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Other Characteristics

• Proficient in reading and writing English. (E)
• Minimum grade 12 certification. (E)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in corrosion monitoring/ mapping.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in NDT inspection in the Oil and Gas Industry. (E)
• Familiar with QA/QC systems/procedures and NDT techniques.
• Gives and receives constructive feedback while being mentored. (E)
• Ensures that regular consistent communication takes place within the work group. (E)

Working Conditions

This position is considered OFFSHORE which is characterized as follows:

• Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water.
• Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment.
• Frequently the humidity is above 90%, noise is over 85 decibels.
• Potential exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.
• Constant exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.
• Work surface is stable, height is elevated
• Requires working with radiation.
