Project HSE Inspector

The KBR is seeking a Project HSE Inspector.

KBR is providing Project Management Services encompassing Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning phase execution supporting KBR’s client Sonangol’s multi-billion-dollar grass roots Lobito Refinery Project in Angola Africa.

KBR is looking for Project HSE Inspectors to support the project’s adherence to Regulatory Compliance and Standards in the Field. This role will ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations while staying updated on industry-specific standards and best practices. The Project HSE Inspector will support KBR’s HSE team to ensure the organization is well-prepared to handle unforeseen situations and that safety equipment is readily available and functional.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and work areas to identify health, safety, and environmental hazards.
• Perform audits to assess compliance with HSE regulations and company policies.
• Assess workplace risks and collaborate with relevant departments to develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
• Provide recommendations for improvement in HSE measures.
• Stay informed about local, state, and federal HSE regulations and standards.
• Ensure the organization’s compliance with all applicable HSE laws and guidelines.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, assessments, and incidents.
• Prepare comprehensive reports detailing findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
• Actively seek feedback for ongoing improvement of HSE processes.
• Implement measures to enhance overall health, safety, and environmental protocols, contributing to a workplace that evolves to meet emerging challenges.
• Facilitate HSE training sessions for employees and EPC contractors to enhance their awareness and understanding of safety and environmental practices.
• Collaborate with HSE and other relevant departments to develop and deliver training programs.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes.
• Work with management to develop corrective actions and preventive measures.
• Participate in the development and testing of emergency response plans and procedures.
• Ensure employees & EPC contractor are trained and aware of emergency protocols.
• Monitor and assess environmental impacts associated with company operations.
• Recommend and implement measures to minimize the organization’s environmental footprint.
• Communicate HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines to all employees.
• Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.

Qualifications

• Proven ability providing HSE support in the field on large scale LNG projects.
• In depth knowledge of HSE field processes and procedures.
• Strong understanding and proficiency with Inspections and Audits, Risk Assessment, Regulatory Compliance, Continuous Improvement Initiatives, Training and Education, Incident Investigation, Emergency. Preparedness, Environmental Compliance, & Safety Communication.
• International project experience.
• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• 4 + years of HSE Inspector experience on related projects.
• Must have ability to communicate fluently in both spoken and written English.
