Painting Supervisor

The Ponticelli is seeking a Painting Supervisor.

Position Summary

The Painting Supervisor in Boavista is responsible for overseeing, managing, and executing all painting and coating operations on-site for an onshore oil and gas project. This role involves ensuring that surface preparation, coating application, and finishing work meet the required specifications and quality standards. The supervisor will coordinate and manage subcontractors, enforce safety protocols, and ensure that the project progresses on time and within budget while maintaining high safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all painting and coating operations on the project site, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards.
• Directly oversee surface preparation, coating application, and inspection of completed work.
• Supervise subcontractors and ensure work is completed in compliance with project schedules and specifications.
• Manage painting equipment, materials, and tools, ensuring they are used effectively and are properly maintained.
• Provide regular reports to the Project Manager regarding the progress of work, safety observations, and any issues encountered.
• Enforce the use of proper safety procedures and maintain strict compliance with industry safety regulations.
• Train and mentor field personnel and subcontractors in painting techniques and safety protocols.

Profile Wanted

• Languages: Fluent in English and French, English and Portuguese, or ideally all three.
• Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in onshore oil and gas projects with a focus on painting, coating, and surface preparation.
• Supervisory Skills: Proven experience leading painting and coating teams, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of blasting and coating equipment, with hands-on experience in field operations.
• Certifications: NACE Level 1 or 2, FROSIO, or BGAS certification required.
• Rotation Schedule: Comfortable with a 9×3 rotation (9 days on-site, 3 days off).
