Finance Manager

The Saint-Gobain Africa is seeking a Finance Manager.

We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented Finance Manager to lead and manage the financial operations of Saint-Gobain Angola, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient cash management. The successful candidate will act as a key business partner in strategic decision-making and drive continuous improvement across all finance functions.

Role Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Strategic Management

• Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting to local authorities and Saint-Gobain Group.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, enabling both short-term reactivity and long-term financial planning.
• Conduct variance analyses and deliver actionable insights to senior leadership (General Manager, Regional CEO, CFO).
• Manage cash flow forecasting, cost control, margin analysis, and working capital optimization.
• Support pricing strategies and product costing initiatives to drive profitability.

Governance, Risks and Internal Control

• Strengthen the internal control environment, ensuring alignment with Group policies and local regulatory standards Provide constant feedback, perform performance evaluations and draw up individual development and training plans for their direct reports.
• Lead internal and external audit readiness, ensuring timely completion and full compliance.
• Continuously improve financial processes and reporting tools, promoting harmonization, simplification, and data integrity.
• Proactively manage risks related to changing tax legislation, economic volatility, and compliance in a developing market context.

Business Partnering and Stakeholder Engagement

• Serve as a key advisor to the General Manager and other department heads, contributing to data-driven decisions.
• Collaborate across departments (operations, sales, marketing) and with regional financial hubs.
• Present financial performance in a clear, concise, and business-oriented manner to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and support ERP rollouts, process automation, and reporting innovations.

Team Leadership and Talent Development

• Manage and develop a lean team of 3 finance professionals, fostering autonomy, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Provide regular coaching, performance reviews, and training to strengthen financial competencies.
• Promote a high-performance, ethical, and collaborative culture aligned with the Saint-Gobain values.
• Inspire the team to operate with resilience and ownership in a high-pressure, fast-changing business environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in finance roles within a multinational environment, or 8+ years of overall finance experience, including a first industrial controlling experience.
• Solid expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and working capital management.
• In-depth knowledge of Angolan tax legislation (Industrial Tax, IVA, IRT, etc.) and PGC accounting principles aligned with IFRS.
• Proven compliance with AGT, BNA, labor laws (including INSS), and related regulatory obligations.
• Extensive experience engaging with internal and external auditors, tax authorities, and IT/ERP consultants.
• Experience collaborating with C-level executives and regional finance teams, with exposure to strategic decision-making and corporate governance in fast-paced, entrepreneurial settings.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in team development, performance management, and talent growth.
• High level of autonomy, integrity, and ownership, with the ability to thrive under pressure in multicultural and dynamic environments.
• Hands-on experience with P&L management, business partnering, and overseeing external audits.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, cost control, and investment analysis.
• Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements, including standardization and harmonization initiatives.
• Experience leading cross-functional financial projects and collaborating with diverse, multi-disciplinary teams.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of economic and regulatory dynamics in developing markets, with the ability to navigate change effectively.
• Full professional fluency in both Portuguese and English.

Educational and technical qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Postgraduate qualification (e.g. MBA or Master’s in Financial Management or Controlling) preferred.
• Certification in financial standards (e.g. IFRS, ACCA, CPA) is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in data and process automation tools such as BI solutions/tools.
• Valid driver’s license (Class B).
• Willingness to pursue further professional development or higher qualifications in finance.
