About the job

Mitrelli aims to reinforce the Engineering & Production unit, with a Hydraulic Expert, to support its activities in Urban Infrastructures and building developments.

You will actively participate in the design & build full project cycle, from the conception phase, preparation, design, implementation, tests, commissioning and guarantee, in complex engineering designs, contributing to projects that make a positive impact on African communities.

This role reports to the Project Design Coordinator within Technical & Innovation Department and interacts with internal multidiscipline experienced professionals, external designers, contractors, and suppliers in his specific area of expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides expertise and guidance on various hydraulic projects that may include WWTP (Wastewater Treatment Plant) and WTP (Water Treatment Plant), Reservoirs, elevation pumps, water Piping, Stormwater infrastructures as in Urban Infrastructures and building developments.
• Close follow-up of design process to get the best design with the quality required in a cost-effective way, timely manner.
• Deep knowledge in normative, regulations, namely European, Portuguese.
• Participation in conceptual design supporting the selection of the best water and sewage treatment processes that will be presented in the client offer in EPC contracts.
• Participation in contractor tender process, technical documentation preparation and bid analysis.
• Coordinate technical issues, giving specific professional support to Project “owner” (PM or PMO) action, to meet technical requirements and best practices.
• Follow-up and supervision of construction process.
• Coordination and monitoring of systems tests, trial, training, systems manuals development, commissioning, operation and maintenance.
• Conducts field surveys on hydraulic facilities; identifies, recommends strategies to solve problems, or to promote expansion, upgrades, and/or necessary maintenance required to the systems.
• Defines appropriate materials and equipment including pumps, pipes, and conduits.
• Provides definition of Hydraulics interaction with SCADA, BMS/GTC systems, and interact efficiently with other disciplines: HVAC and Electrical.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Hydraulic, Civil Engineering, Environment or equivalent field with proven expertise in water and sewage processes treatment.
• Training and experience in Sanitation, Water and Wastewater treatment is mandatory.
• 20+ years of experience in design /construction/implementation activities related to water supply, water treatment, wastewater treatment, sewerage systems and/or stormwater/urban drainage infrastructure.
• More than 10 years working based in Africa, preference in Angola.
• Experience and knowledge interacting with Angolan water public entities is appreciated.
• Software knowledge: Microsoft Office, EPANET (or similar).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit a plus.
• Excellent oral and written Portuguese communication skills is mandatory.
