Purpose of the position

The Offshore Medic is responsible for providing medical care and emergency response to all personnel onboard the offshore installation. The role also includes supporting health, safety, and welfare initiatives, maintaining medical records, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements. and will report to Medical Coordinator & Offshore Installation Manager (OIM).

How can you support us? Here below your responsibilities

• Ensure optimum health management by continuously assessing, monitoring, and safeguarding the health of all employees under care.
• Maintain direct communication and provide reporting to functional and hierarchical superiors on health and medical issues.
• Implement relevant documents and contractual requirements related to health and medical matters.
• Ensure that the GIPSI Program is operational, or an equivalent paper format is available.
• Ensure that the PSS Program is operational and effective.
• Equip medical structures with equipment, consumables, and medicines as stipulated in the Health Plan, ensuring sufficient quantities at all times with the support of medicines management software.
• Contribute actively to the dissemination and implementation of corporate prevention programs at site level.
• Guarantee 24/7/365 availability of curative healthcare services on site through in-house assistance and agreements with third parties.
• Carry out health administrative activities on a daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Maintain close coordination with superiors and operations managers to plan and execute health initiatives.
• Establish and train a First Aid Team for emergency situations, develop the site/project-specific MEDEVAC plan, and assess its effectiveness through regular drills.
• Organize the distribution of first aid equipment at strategic site locations to ensure rapid and effective response during emergencies.
• Ensure proper management and disposal of medical waste in compliance with standards and local regulations.
• Maintain strong inter-departmental relationships to support health and medical initiatives.

What are we looking for?

• Education: Technical Degree as Safety Technician or equivalent medical/paramedical qualification.
• Experience: Professional experience of at least 5 years in relevant roles (preferably in offshore or remote environments).
• Languages: Fluent in English & Portuguese (spoken and written).
• Technical Skills: Solid expertise in emergency intervention and trauma management, Strong knowledge of occupational health standards and practices, Excellent communication and record-keeping skills, Ability to work independently in a remote/offshore environment.
• Certification: Valid Offshore Medical Certificate (or equivalent), Valid BOSIET / FOET with CA-EBS certification.
• IT Skills: Microsoft Tools.
