Business Development Director Tempo Inteiro

Role synopsis

The BD Director Angola is accountable for leading the origination, evaluation, negotiation and delivery of renewal and access activities in the Angola region.

Key accountabilities

• Work closely with the Regional President, Exploration and other key Operating Functions to develop the Angola Upstream renewal strategy.
• Interface with and provide commercial advice and guidance to Exploration on new access options
• Structure and coordinate development of renewal and access business cases and, as required, generate and progress supporting AtN’s and FM’s through to approvals
• Advocate before Ministries and other Government institutions any fiscal or other non-technical regulatory changes relevant to strategy delivery and, as required, represent BP on external forums.
• Formulate, negotiate and deliver quality Government and partner contracts, as agreed with Head of Business Development (Oil & Exploration) and supported by AtN/FM, for both Operated and non-Operated business development
• Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders (Government/ National Oil Company/ partners/ competitors), Upstream Finance, IST and other stakeholders.

Essential experience and job requirements

• Commercial leadership experience in Business Development, M&A, Commercial Operations and/or IST in a non-OECD environment.
• Strong commercial acumen and extensive business development experience in an access environment;
• Experience of leading and managing negotiations;
• Proven ability to lead multi-functional teams;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills;
• Ability to operate and influence effectively internally and across functional boundaries, with strong track record of external relationship management skills with Government and Partners at a senior level;
• Angolan nationality for external candidate is required;
