Job description

Our client is looking for Instrument Reliability Engineer to join their team on a 28 /28 rotatioanl basis in Angola.

In the development, implementation and operation of all plant reliability and integrity systems relating to all instrument Equipment and Devices associated with the Mechanical Rotating, Fixed Equipment, (cryogenic) Tank Farm, Loading and Storage Systems and fire and Gas Systems to ensure the long term viability, reliability, integrity and cost effectiveness. Ensures all reliability equipment and systems at Angola LNG are operated and maintained in accordance with sound engineering principles, (performance) standards and practices, to enable optimum performance, promote safe and environmentally responsible operations.

As an Instrument Reliability Engineer need to have sound knowledge and proven Competencies in (IT)PM development and Optimization and (Leading) Root Cause Analyses activities.
Assist the Shutdown Group with developing Instrument equipment work scope and execution plans.

Principal Accountabilities

• Provides instructions and assistance on the technical tools of reliability opportunity identification, failure analysis, root cause failure analysis and reporting, reliability centered maintenance (RCM), and life cycle cost analysis for all plant instrument equipment, devices and associated systems.
• Utilize reliability Integrate engineering principles and tools such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), FMEA, Spare Parts management and other techniques to investigate and resolve equipment reliability issues.
• Responsible for analyses, identification, coordination and execution of reliability improvement projects on all Field Instruments and Control Systems. This includes but is not limited to: DCS, ESD, SCADA, process control valves and Auxiliary Equipment, local PLCs, local control panels (LCP), satellite buildings, flow, Temperature, Level and Pressure Installations.
• Facilitates the development and implementation of Instrumentation Reliability Strategies, improves the Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Programs and Reliability culture. Strives to eliminate reliability and availability losses related to instrument equipment and systems.
• Leads efforts in diagnosing Instrument and Control System malfunctions and prescribes repairs work practice. Reviews findings with Maintenance Sr Instrument Technicians, Production and Engineering when instrument problems are complex or may lead to extended downtime or high costs and recommend resolution processes.

Technical Support

• Serves as specialist and work with plant operations, maintenance, engineering and contractors on the design, installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of Instrument, Control and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Safety Instrumented Level (SIL) and Safety Instrumented Function (SIF) and ensure that the systems meet the required standards.
• Serves as specialist on the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of Instrumented Control and Safety Systems (ICSS). Provides technical and advisory support to operations with respect to equipment condition, risk assessment and repair strategies;
• Leads efforts in diagnosing Instrument and Control System malfunctions and prescribes repairs work practice;
•  Maintain close working interaction with Plant leadership, Engineering group, Production and Maintenance personnel, Suppliers and Service Providers, and Subject Matter Experts across industry to identify and resolve safety and reliability risks of instrumentation assets;
• Analyse asset utilization, unplanned events, and cost data to develop and prioritize a list of Instrument reliability opportunities, then implement solutions to address these opportunities;
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests. Ensure that reliability improvements are documented in the System;
• Perform routine analysis of equipment performance and equipment integrity.
• Technical DCS, PLC, SCADA, F&G, DeltaV, Foundation Fieldbus, SIS, SIL, SIF, HIMA and ICS Triplex safety systems associated with:
• Mechanical Rotating and Fixed Equipment used in the Oil and Gas;
• Industry Level Advanced;
• Software Condition Monitoring, Bentley Nevada, RCM Analysis;
• Software, PLC, Etc. Level Strong Competence ( able to implementand operate – Familiar );
• SAP PM, MM Level Knowledgeable;
• IT MS Office, MS Database Level Knowledgeable;
• Compex Certified;
• Functional Safety Engineer certification;
• Engineering Degree or Diploma.
• Extensive Instrument, Analysers and Metering equipment and systems reliability experience associated with the mechanical rotating, mechanical fixed, analysers and Metering equipment, for the Utilities & Hydrocarbon Process in the Oil and Gas Industry;
•  Knowledgeable of Control Valves, Auxiliaries, Transmitters, Process variables measurement.
•  Experience in mentoring/training junior staff on a development program.
