Heading is recruiting for its client, an Oil and Gas company, a Civil Construction Supervisor (M/F) to be based in Afungi, working on rotation.
Main Responsibilities
Prepare and/or review the scope of works for construction works.
Ensure all construction works are performed in accordance with the applicable legislation and regulations, company standards and industry best practices.
Provide technical support through construction licensing processes and all required permits and/or authorizations.
Review project documentation such as HSE Plans, Project Execution Plans, and Project Quality Plans.
Review design documentation, including engineering drawings and specifications.
Update, monitor and track the design changes register.
Review construction documents, including but not limited to method statements, and shop drawings.
Assess construction materials as per the approved specifications.
Witness construction site inspections as per applicable Inspection and Testing plans.
Identify construction execution risks and propose mitigation measures.
Monitor and track contractor deliverables; Issue construction progress reports.
Track and review the turnover documentation status, including as built drawings, O&M manuals, datasheets, warranties, and all applicable Original Equipment Manufacturer documentation.
Ensure all completion QA/QC paper work is completed and duly signed in a timely fashion as per the construction schedule.
Take part in completion walk downs, compile punch list items and support the closure of any open items.
Assist with the coordination of site visits by various project stakeholders.
Undertake any other relevant duties pertaining to the role.
Responsible for the Review of construction’ documentation and deliverables.
Responsible for the good execution of construction works.
Monitor and control the progress of the construction work and contractors’ performances.
Requirements
B.Sc. in Civil Engineering; 10+ years’ experience in construction.
Relevant experience in construction of infrastructure in Mozambique.
Good Knowledge of QA/QC of Civil Works.
Good overall understanding of roads and buildings civil, electrical, and water & sanitation disciplines.
Strong focus on schedule and deliverables.
Strong knowledge of HSE standards for construction sites.
Previous experience working in Energy or mining projects will be a plus.
Computer skills including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
Team player able to foster team relationships, and think outside the box.
Excellent organizational skills.
Fluent in Portuguese and English, Swahili preferential.
