Outstanding organizational skills, proven leadership and senior management/technical skills;
Senior experience in Onshore Oil & Gas industry on leading construction management team in execution LNG and/or heavy mechanical modular type projects;
Local market experience of the Africa/MENA region;
Engineering degree.
Mission:
The project director will be responsible for managing a project team to ensure that the project or projects are delivered on time and within the budget. Therefore, the project director will need to build credibility, respectful partnerships and apply rigorous and disciplined approaches whilst executing the delivery of the project or projects in our existing portfolio of work.
Principal Duties:
Provide strong leadership to the project team, as well as create a winning “can do” culture within the team;
Interface proactively with other company departments, design, contracts, estimating and cost planning, etc;
Proactively respond to the client as required;
Make strategic decisions regarding all aspects of the project in conjunction with Senior Executive Management, including providing inputs in relation to potential funding models;
Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the regular feedback on project status;
Conducting monthly reviews with Commercial Managers, Project Managers and other staff;
Continuous monitoring of risks and their mitigation measures, as well as produce recommendations/improvements to the current methodology so the projects are delivered more effectively and efficiently;
Selection of key-staff required to fill both technical and administrative job roles, and establish the organization structure of project in collaboration with the Commercial Manager;
Participates in setting up and reviewing the project execution strategy and schedule, continuously reviewing and analyzing the required implementations;
Overlooking of the assignment and the making out of construction equipment requirement schedule in collaboration with Project Managers and Construction Managers;
Ensures alignment of the project team in handling major and/or critical equipment and materials requirements with emphasis on pre-assembled packages, racks, units and modules in respect of delivery modes, heavy lifting, transportations and logistics;
Leads the mobilization efforts in terms of camps, TCF, manpower and plant, including the preparation of Project Execution Plan;
Initiates team building efforts and activities with the client and project staff;
Warrants that project disciplines are aligned with the construction execution planning and ensures proper delegation of authority is established and adequate checks are built into working procedures;
Overlooks materials ordering program and the established system for project progress monitoring and reporting to the client and corporate offices are dispatched on time;
Frequently visits work site to strengthen coordination between project site and office teams;
Ensures that all contractual and legal matters related to the project are dealt with properly and promptly, seeking advice and guidance from area management and/or corporate offices as deemed necessary;
Communicates with the client on all matters requiring their agreement or coordination, with direct involvement or through delegation from subordinates as deemed necessary;
Participates in soliciting and negotiations with potentially suitable subcontractors and major suppliers;
Ensures the proper conduct of all administrative and man management roles required by the Group Policy and Local Labor Laws including industrial relation implementation;
Fosters the training and development of project workforce and motivating them to work as a good and effective team;
Maintains under regular review the demobilization plans of the workforce and plant as project progresses;
Holds up and maintains broad range of contracts within the area of project, as a basis to business promotion duties of the company.
