Finance & Commercial Manager Angola

Our Aker Solutions’ Angola business, the largest Services business in Africa, is looking for a strong Finance and Commercial Manager who can pro-actively support the local leadership team to solve daily as well as strategic challenges while ensuring that we don’t miss a beat with regards to compliance and predictable financial results.

The Finance & Commercial Manager – Services Angola will be responsible for:

  • Drive financial performance and achievement of targets,  including cost efficiencies and commercial aspects of the business
  • Develop/ support accurate & consistent quotes and support negotiations
  • Maximise VO opportunities
  • Analyse & improve available information to gain insights into and drive performance of existing backlog and win new, profitable work. along with pro-actively assess risks
  • Be partner for Services Angola business leader and local leadership team, supporting strategic ambitions and initiatives whilst acting as a gatekeeper
  • Own month end closing/ financial planning/ forecasting, analysis and reporting, appropriately highlighting the “stories to tell”
  • Establish & improve availability of data for decision-making purposes
  • Support operational initiatives and drive improvement of financial metrics & local processes over time (e.g. working capital reduction, improved internal controls framework)
  • Build/ manage/ develop strong local Services Finance team in Angola
  • Drive, through local Chief Accountant and offsite support, compliance with local rules and regulations as well as AKSO policies, also with the Treasury effective cash management
  • Be local point of contact, together with Chief Accountant, for audits, input into statutory filings, etc.
  • Be active member of global Aker Solutions CFO network.

  • Ability to recognize, support and focus on the few critical priorities at the right time
  • Ability to constructively engage and challenge with business objectives in mind
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills including ability to translate finance observations/ take-aways into a language that the rest of the business understands
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical skills & highly numerate coupled with solid commercial & business acumen (commercial experience is a plus)
  • Good understanding of cost accounting, ERP system & processes
  • Senior finance professional with broad-based experience including at senior levels
  • Commercial experience/eposure
  • Multi-dimensional set-up (e.g. Multiregional/Multidiscipline)
